Dinner at D’s (Part II)

For those of you who have missed out on Part I, you can catch up here!

Hmmm where was I, oh yes, we planned to get together over dinner at her place; while i was looking forward to it, i was both very excited and in some why very curious on how the evening would go!

I mean 15 years is a very long time, these were the years in which we grew up from being teenagers out of highschool, to young adults, to adults in our thirties!

I told my parents about my dinner plans with D and they were both equally excited since they fully remember how close we were back in the days. My husband, on the other hand, vaguely remembers meeting her at our cousins wedding! hehe…

While i was looking forward to our evening, and knowing she has a beautiful 9 year old daughter,F, i thought i mustn’t show-up unless i have something in my hand for both D and lovely F.

When i arrived, must admit i got a little lost on my way there, she greeted me herself, via the garage entrance, admitting she didn’t have the key to the main door.. hehehe..

While i had 2 gifts in my hand, a box of desert for her and another smaller one for lovely F, D’s exact words were: “None of my friends did that, none thought about giving my daughter a gift!”

That alone… was truly priceless! πŸ™‚

Dedication to My International Colleagues

I remember that day when..

I thought about dedicating this post to those who have inspired me the most throughout my career!

H. Klausner – from Austria – Working with you for 4 years was like a roller coaster ride! It was fun, fast, daring, and unforgettable! Thank you for your leadership & for believing in me πŸ™‚

T. Schultz – from USA – I have always admired your people’s skills, kindness, and understanding of international cultures. Thank you for being my teacher, my older brother, and my friend.

P. Tortell – from New Zealand – One of the most decent, modest, professional people i have ever worked with! The 6 weeks we worked together had definately left a lifetime impact on me and for that i will always be grateful.

M. AlAdawani – from Kuwait – I regret not writing down your daily proverbs as they are truly priceless! Thank you for being my guide, my listener, and my older brother.

Wishing you all great health & happiness wherever you are. πŸ™‚

Changing Jobs

I remember that day when..
I decided to change my job!

It wasn’t an easy decision, especially since I got so comfortable in my previous job of 5 years, yet I truly believe that you must grab the opportunity as it comes and change is always good πŸ™‚

My last day came and my colleagues were so sweet to set up a farewell lunch for me, and I remember i was hesitant about sending them a ‘thank you’ email because i wasn’t sure what to write?! My dear friend’n’colleague, who happens to be one of my followers, simply told me: “just write something as if you were writing in your blog!” That surely was a wake up call!

“Dear All,

I thank each and every one of you for the kindness you have showed me, the laughter you have given me, the challenges you faced with me, and the opportunities you have grabbed with me.
I thank each and every one of you for your friendship, your assistance, your time, and your professionalism.

I thank each and every one of you for your generosity, your patience, your sincerity, and your valued conversations.

As (we were) united for a better Kuwait, I promise to continue the work I started with the same objectives and core values (this job) has taught me.

This isn’t a goodbye, but a β€˜see you later’. ”

What do you guys think? Too mushy? heheh

Thank you dear Asmae πŸ˜‰

Your Opinion Please!

I remember that day when..

I wondered about what my readers thought about my blog?

A couple of weeks ago I introduced my blog to a friend whom I haven’t seen in a long time… only to receive this response from him that has truly made my day:

“As for your Blog… I went straight to Food Category and I have to say.. its so interesting and you’ve just made me a follower :)”  heheheeh… love it!

What about you? What do you guys think? What’s your favorite category? What’s your least favorite?

Being In-Love

I remember that day when..

I realized that I was madly in-love!

When he laughs, I feel happy and relieved; when he’s upset, I want to make things better instantly; when he’s alone, I feel guilty for leaving him; when he’s busy, I miss him; when he asks a favor, I want to drop everything and give it to him; and when he sleeps, I just want to lay next to him without waking him up πŸ˜‰

The Joy of Giving

I remember that day when..

I felt incredible because i was able to give!

A couple of weeks ago, i decided to auction off my puzzle to the highest bidder with a promise that the proceeds will go to the local orphanage. Little did i expect i would have so many supporters, feel incredibly euphoric, happy, and excited!

The highest bidder of KD 100/- ( Approx $356 ) was so kind that they wanted me to auction off the puzzle again! How amazing is that? πŸ˜€

Currently, i am working on my next puzzle hoping it will achieve a greater amount to be given to the people / organizations in need πŸ™‚
